Jason LaRev Interview

J-RoD: Give me your full name, age, and
hometown.

LaRev: Jason LaRev. i'm 22 years old, and
I'm from Marietta GA. born and raised.

J-RoD: Where do you live at now, and whats
up with that place? I hear you've got some
pretty sweet trails there.

LaRev: I live in Marietta, GA, and ya i have
a little somethin somethin going on in my back
yard, haha. But ya i have some jumps back
there. I'ts pretty rad actually how much crap i
have for the size of my yard. Got about 3
different lines back there with a couple big
dubs, and a curved wall ride which is super
fun. And we just got done building a 14ft tall
roll in so we don't have to pedal at the main
set. I'ts pretty dope.

J-RoD: How long have you been riding BMX
and what got you started?

LaRev: Ive been riding since around 1998. i
got started because my dad went to the local
bike shop at the time (kovachi wheels) and
bought a bike for me and my brother, and one
of the dudes there told my dad about the
track. We went, checked it out and rode and
i've been hooked ever since.

J-RoD: Do you have any kind of training
schedule, or are you just like me and ride a
little trails and follow it up with a few 12
oz. curls?

LaRev: HAHA me train? C'mon. Naw i ride a
lot of trails and skate park and I'm always
out riding my bike and i like to work out a lot
but ive had a problem being consistant at that
lately haha. But i just started a new training
program and I'm gonna hold strong to it. So
hopefully I'll be rippin it up next season.

J-RoD: So I heard you just got picked up by
a new sponsor?

LaRev: Yeah me and one of my boys Doran
Bradshaw just got done working out a deal
with This new company out of south Florida
called Morphine Industries. They make sick
stems, Handle bars, And some other items. Its
a pretty sweet deal so be sure to look for
the Morphine factory team and new rig out at
Disney Cup this year.

J-RoD: The NBL Grands just passed. How
was your season this year, and do you have
any regrets?

LaRev: Eh this season was pretty much my
worst season ever haha. I didnt have my head
in the right place. I had a couple of injuries
that put me out for a month or so each time.
And i just really haven't been to motivated at
all up until recently. But I'm ready to turn it
around and and start killing it.

J-RoD: What has been the highlight and
lowlight of your racing career?

LaRev: I haven't had my Highlight yet, but
up until now id have to say getting NAG 5 my
last year racing AM in ABA. and my lowlight
was breaking my hip when i was 13 haha that
sucked.

J-RoD: Speaking of the Grands, you didn't
have anything to do with the bar room brawl
on Sunday night, did you?

LaRev: HAHA what? I missed a brawl? That
sucks. But nope sure didn't.

J-RoD: What are your goals for your
future in racing or just life in general?

LaRev: Well my goals for racing are just
to actually train hard and start doing better.
I pretty much wanna make $2,999 every year
and stay "A" pro for life. I don't really wanna
do the "AA" thing unless i get really fast and
could actually do something in that class.
"AA" is just unreal these days, everyone is so
fast now that bmx is in the olympics. And as
for life goals, i wanna get into the Fire
Department when I'm done with bmx.

J-RoD: Do you have any other plans for the
future? School, kangaroo farming, etc.

LaRev: My future plans are just to have
fun pedaling my bike and get into the fire
department some day soon.

J-RoD: Are you a Wheaties or Lucky Charms
kind of guy?

LaRev: Lucky Charms FA SHO!

J-RoD: If I gave you $372 right now, what
would you spend it on?

LaRev: Id go buy a PSP and some games, i
need one of those for trips.

J-RoD: If you were ever attacked by evil
midget ninjas, who would you rather have on
your side: Chuck Norris, Mr. T, or just one of
Matt Pohlkamp's legs?

LaRev: I'd like to have Mr. T with Chuck
Norris's ninja moves, swinging one of Matt
Pohlkamps legs at them. How bout THAT?
